Ørsted recruited a Head of Marketing & Strategy
through Harrison Bridge

The Company

Ørsted is a renewable energy company headquartered in Denmark and employs 5,600 people. Formerly DONG Energy, the company rebranded to Ørsted in 2017. In the UK, Ørsted Sales is one of the largest energy suppliers to UK business, with a focus on renewable power and helping customers to become more energy efficient and sustainable.

The Challenge

To recruit a Head of Marketing and Strategy for Ørsted Energy Sales. The successful candidate needed to possess a wide range of skills and experience including strategy, marketing, B2B energy supply experience and senior stakeholder management experience within a similar international organisation. In addition, the recruitment of the role was time critical, owing to the current role holder moving internally.

The Solution

Ørsted chose to work with Lee De Souza, Managing Director of executive search firm, Harrison Bridge as Lee had previously filled several executive roles for their energy sales business. He conducted a search across energy suppliers and the wider industry, quickly shortlisting over a four-week period (including Easter).
